A large American blown glass leech bowl.
This one is 7 inches high. It is in excellent condition, no chips, dings, or cracks. The leech bowl was free-blown. The open pontel is sharp. The bottom of the bowl shows much wear.
This is the size that a doctor would keep in his office.
Leech bowls of this style date 1780 to the mid 1800s.
