Pewter, Brass, Copper, Tin, Iron

We carry antique iron, brass, copper, tin, and pewter relating to the medical and dental trades. We also carry 17th century small personal items such as tinder boxes, snuff boxes, steel and iron spectacle cases, wig curling irons, knives, and buckles.

Medical Pewter: Our inventory of medical related pewter includes: syringes, enema pumps, bleeding bowls, sick feeders, inhalers, spout cups, invalid feeders, nursing bottles, and other items of this nature.

Medical Brass: Our inventory of medical related brass includes: mortars and pestles, apothacary weights and measures, and some brass instruments. Please note that most of the brass instruments that I carry will be listed under medical tools elsewhere in this catalog.

Nursing Bottles: I usually have one or more pewter nursing bottles and infant feeders in stock. Most of these are English or French and date between 1750 - 1810.

Tin and Iron: I have a selection of small tin and iron antiques. I prefer small items that would have been carried on the person. In the days before matches, most everyone carried a tinder box containing flint and steel for fire making. I usually have several of these in stock. I also look for tobacco and snuff boxes, buckles, and small decorative pocket knives.

Colonial American Saws: Take a look and see the way we used to saw. This collection of lumber making saws and ship building saws date from the Colonial period to the late 1800's. Whenever possible, I have tried to discover the location in which the saw was used. I welcome inquiries from scholars and historians interested in early American wood processing tools and equipment.
