Birthing Forceps 1820 - 1930 . . . I usually have several early birthing forceps in stock. I look for forceps with Ivory, wooden, or gutta percha handles. I look for forceps that do not have the pelvic curve and forceps made to deliver premature infants and dead fetus. I also try to have a cranioclast, vectis, or blunt hook in stock. Please contact me by email for a list of my current stock.
Please call between the hours of 7 and 11 AM EST or after 8 PM EST

American made birthing forceps made by Codman & Shurtleff, Boston.
They have gutta percha handles and serial number 1.
Most likely these were the first set of forceps
made by this company with gutta percha handles.
They date to about 1870
